Klang Heritage Fest
As of 2010, the Klang City had a total population of 240,016 (10,445 in the city centre), while the population of Klang District is 842,146, and the population of all areas managed by Klang Municipal Council is 744,062. Currently the municipality covers an area of about 573.8 square kilometres with a population close to 900,000.
Klang is also estimated to have a floating population of about 2 million, including foreigners, working at the ports and surrounding areas. According to the 2010 census the town’s ethnic composition as Malay 41.1%; other Bumiputra 1.6%; Chinese 26.8.%; Indians 21.4%; and others and non-Malaysians.
