SHOPPING
There is a vibrant commercial district in the old town with many historical ‘shop-houses’ centred around Leech Street, Jalan Bandar Timah). The old town also features wall art murals drawn by street artists which relate to the town’s heritage and culture.
The new town, to the east of the Kinta River, developed by Yau Tet Shin around 1908 houses Ipoh City Hall building, other public buildings and numerous shops, shopping malls, and hotels.
